The Church of the Most Holy Rosary of Taurasi is located in Via del Convento and is adjacent to the town hall. The Church of the Most Holy Rosary of Taurasi is located in Via del Convento and is adjacent to the town hall. It was built in 1582 and is known and called by the inhabitants of the town also as a "Convent". Embellished and restructured, especially following the damage caused by the earthquake of 1796 and that of 1980, the Church of the Most Holy Rosary has a gabled façade, on which one cannot fail to notice the stone portal. Inside the Church, composed of a single nave, Renaissance elements (the columns) and other Baroque elements (friezes depicting angels, saints and popes) intertwine. Furthermore, it is possible to admire as many as six paintings, mostly dating back to the 18th century, positioned above as many marble altars arranged along the walls. Religious symbol, together with the Collegiate Church of San Marciano Vescovo, of the Taurasina community, the Church of the Most Holy Rosary contributes to enriching the artistic depth of the city centre. read less
