The exact year of construction of the church of San Lorenzo, in the hamlet of Canale di Serino (AV), is unknown, but it was mentioned as early as 1309 in a document confirming the existence of the village of Canale, which at the time was identified with the name of its church; “in casali S. Laurenci est ecclesia S. Laurencii”.
