The "Principe De Curtis" Gardens are named after the great comedian Totò, born Antonio De Curtis, whose bust has been sculpted in a high relief in the square.
History
The original layout of 1960 was then modified in 2010. Inside they preserve the remains of a sixteenth-century cloister, which belonged to the ancient Carmelite convent, which once stood in today's Piazza XVI Marzo 1978. The Carmelite Convent was built around 1222 by the Carmelite Saint Angelo of Jerusalem on his return from a trip to Rome, thanks to the financial contribution of the Aquino family.
