The main entrance to the cave is hidden by beech trees and you have to climb to an altitude of 1220 meters above sea level, while the depth is 65 meters. Along the main branch of the cave, there is a "karst channel", which extends for 400 meters and leads to the Acque Nere river. This is the easiest and most spacious part of the sinkhole, although the presence of mud is very likely. The path then begins to narrow, it becomes a bottleneck, even quite full of water in some periods of the year, slowing down the continuation considerably, which culminates in the Acque Nere plain below. For convenience, about thirty years ago, after months and months of hard work, the entire route was widened a bit and a more passable passage was created for explorations and shorter and more visitable branches. It allows you to appreciate the karst forms that nature, over time, has enjoyed shaping, in the form of rock creations, basins, small basins, stalactites, various inlets and calcite flows.
