The site is a large rock shelter from the Mesolithic period, identified in the second half of the 1970s, at the foot of a steep rocky ridge located in the Cardellito valley and called Balzi del Guacci from the name of its discoverer. The anthropic deposit, only partially investigated, has returned a complex stratification of hearths with alternations and facies of seasonal abandonment by semi-nomadic hunters of the post-glacial period. Remains of lithic industries in flint and siliceous limestone of microlithic nature attributable to the Tardenoisian Culture typical of the Mesolithic have been recovered from the frequentation levels.
