The Monastery of the Poor Clares of Santa Maria della Sanità is located in Santa Lucia di Serino (AV), in Via Francesco Moscati. The Monastery of the Poor Clares of Santa Maria della Sanità is located in Santa Lucia di Serino (AV), in Via Francesco Moscati. Located between the Church of Saints Peter and Paul and the House Museum of San Giuseppe Moscati, the monastic complex was built between the end of the sixteenth century and the beginning of the seventeenth century, commissioned by Fra' Giulio Chiarella, Chaplain of the Sovereign Military Order of Malta and relative of the family of San Giuseppe Moscati. The structure of the Monastery forms almost one with that of the church of the same name, built in the seventeenth century, in late Baroque style and embellished over the course of the following century with mosaics, majolica floors, paintings and statues. Inside the building, you can admire splendid frescoes and some wooden statues, works that restoration work has revealed to be by artists such as Michele Ricciardi (1672-1753), Giacomo Colombo (1663-1731) and Nicola Fumo (1647-1725). read less
