The Castle of Cassano Irpino, also known as the "Baronial Palace", is a fortress that was certainly present at the time of the Normans, and was most likely built by the Lombards. The entire structure develops around a guard tower and around what remains of the Castle. The building is accessed by climbing a ramp and passing under an arch, where it is assumed that, once, a real entrance door was located, capable of leading to a small courtyard. Of the original structure, only ruins remain, visible in particular in the upper part of the current structure, while, in the lower part, there are rooms that have been completely renovated.
