The church of SANTA MARIA DELLA CONSOLAZIONE was built at the beginning of the 18th century by vow of the faithful so that it could house a 15th century image of the Holy Virgin brought from Puglia. The church of SANTA MARIA DELLA CONSOLAZIONE was built at the beginning of the 18th century by vow of the faithful so that it could house a 15th century image of the Holy Virgin brought from Puglia. Construction began in 1709, in grandiose forms and in 1719 the temple was opened for devotion. The factory incorporates, on the north side, the door of San Biagio, part of the ancient building. While waiting for the construction of the new church, the image was placed in the church of Santa Maria delle Grazie, where a fund was set up to collect donations. Many citizens put in place various financial activities to raise funds. In 1754 the church was already modernized and the large pillars were decorated with fluted pilasters. During this period the institution owned a complex of houses used as a tavern and other real estate.
