Conza della Campania is an Italian municipality of 1,256 inhabitants in the province of Avellino in Campania. Conza is located in the valley of the Ofanto river, halfway between Lioni and Calitri, along the fast-flowing road (called "Ofantina", partially on the Appia and then on the SS 401) that connects Avellino with Melfi and Barletta. History
Simply called Conza until 1860, it was an important city of the Irpini although, according to recent studies, it is possible that the original Samnite settlement was located in the Monte Oppido area (south of Lioni) and only subsequently transferred to the Conza area following the Roman conquest.
