An event that has taken place since 1993, on the last weekend of July, in the village of Capocastello, with performances by international artists and an audience of about 60,000 per edition.
The streets and squares of the village will be transformed into a stage, where the artists will perform in close contact with the public, in a situation in which the roles - artist / spectator - almost merge.
It is the most important "busker's festival" in the south center thanks to the endless commitment of the Castellarte Association, of the artistic director Anna Di Nardo and of an entire village, the medieval one of Capocastello, which has always been a protagonist, with the narrow streets and squares that are transformed into as many stages and its inhabitants who, for three days, "adopt" the international artists invited each year. But Castellarte has always also been a moment of reflection oriented on the hottest social issues, so that the party is a cathartic and positive moment but not fun for its own sake.
